This topic is raging about on the Internet--perhaps due to Willow Creek's recent revelation. Any thoughts you'd like to share from a preacher's standpoint?

Willow Creek's "discovery" did not surprise me or other pastors with whom I've discussed the study's release.

Information available publicly for years about their "model" led me to conclude long ago nearly what Willow Creek has just recently learned. I know others have arrived at the same conclusion.

I feel hopeful that the Lord will continue to use Willow Creek under the leadership of Bill Hybels. Part of my hope is based on their humility. They are willing to assess and change, reare qualities in many organizations.

I was not surprised by the "discovery," having felt for years that Willow Creek's approach to Church was very strong in some areas (such as cultural relevance) and very weak in others (such as being pragmatically driven). But now they are positioned to achieve even more for the glory of God.
