One more link for illustrative purposes
After listening to a report on the radio this morning, I'd like to add one more "intersection" to yesterday's column.
As we are all well aware, the nation is knee-deep in recession. Men refuse to open their wallets. Women have padlocks on their purses. Parents have resorted to raiding their kids' piggy banks.
Actually, I don't know if that last one is true, but you get my point: it's bad out there.
But hold on - are we really freezing our funds, putting a kibosh on throwing down cash, pinching our pennies, laying down luxuries? A lot of us are. But a lot of us aren't. A lot of us are still spending, spending, spending - we're just doing it in sneaky, stealthy ways.
